Executive Director

Robyn L Trask

Loveland, CO

Robyn is the Executive Director of Loving More Nonprofit, a national leader for polyamory awareness, polyamory counselor, workshop facilitator and writer. Raised in Colorado and Texas, Robyn realized at 24 that she simply was not monogamous. She decided to be honest and ask for open relationships even if it meant being alone. Her first marriage of 18 years with one of her high-school sweeties was open, though it was not until nine years into her marriage that she discovered there was a term, polyamory, and an organization that really fit her relationships style, Loving More Magazine. She founded a local Denver polyamory discussion group with some close friends and lovers in 1998. Robyn studied biology, chemistry and animal science at Texas A&M. She worked in the construction industry as an estimator, owned a top wedding and catering business, is a professional photographer and founded New Visions Center for personal growth where she taught Sacred Sex and other classes.  In 2003 she attended and presented at Loving More Conference retreats on both the East and West coast. Robyn purchased Loving More in the fall of 2004 because she did not want to see this great community resource falter. She quickly realized with the technology and changing publishing industry that Loving More was not viable as a for-profit business or as a magazine and began the process of Loving More Magazine becoming national nonprofit for polyamory awareness. Since 2004, Robyn has worked to expand media awareness of polyamory through press releases and appearances in numerous articles, radio and TV shows including Montel, Lisa Ling and Michael Baisden. Robyn and Loving More were instrumental in the formation of Polyamory Leadership Network. A national speaker and advocate for polyamory she has been a featured speaker at conferences, taught at universities and been a keynote speaker. Robyn has been openly polyamorous for 30 years, raising three children in a polyamorous family.

In my personal life I have always been an avid reader, generally prefer fantasy and science fiction. At an early age I read the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles Blackwood Farm; which brought me to the realization I may not be “straight”, I have realized throughout the years my sexuality is quite fluid. In college I started reading the Anita Blake series and realized how much polyamory made sense to me for what I wanted out of my life. In my search for polyamory, I very quickly came across Loving More® Nonprofit, and found a home and chosen family.
Loving More has given me education, experience, and love. I would not be who I am without Loving More and I am so happy to be on the Board and staff helping with events.
In my professional world, I’m all over the board. I started as a CNA because I always wanted to be a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I realized that wasn’t for me so finished my BA in psychology. From there I started work as a behavioral health worker in a Detox/ATU/Crisis unit becoming a certified addictions counselor, then got pulled into our system admin team in a combination system admin, trainer, and IT, now I’ve been pulled over into the billing department as a business analyst making sure our clients and funding sources are billed correctly.

The ‘sensitive one’, was a name given to me by my family. I wasn’t a fan, nor understood the moniker, but it was what lead me on a path of discovery from Naawlins’ La. in the 70’s.  After graduating with a B.A. in the arts for the University of St Thomas Houston, I was commissioned as an officer into the United States Army- Second Lieutenant, Active Duty 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. I took that sensitive nature and applied it to every new experience and with an open mind. My centered nature gave me a perspective that has served me well. After my military service, I continued as a competitive athlete, actor, and entertainer. My careers from sales to working in construction helped give me a clearer understanding of self, loving, and learning. Consequently, the challenges of living openly as a bi-sensual male has been lessened through honesty, openness, clarity, and love.
Joining the Loving More community early on in my lifestyle change was a blessing. It allowed me to chart a smooth course. The community was welcoming and informative. I had newly moved to Los Angeles Ca. and knew dating would be different for me. I had an idea in the early 90’s that dating would take a different look for me. I was honest with friends, ladies as well. One of my friends (T) was excited, bringing me a magazine, you guessed it, Loving More. From that point on, though it was challenging to people who thought it was strange, having Loving More at my side helped the experience make sense while, as they say, I was getting my feet wet. The rest is history, Work, Family, Friends, and the changing times has largely replaced the indifference or awkwardness of it all – Thank you Loving More….
Professionally I am a Safety Coordinator (including mentoring and training).

Michael Ford
Ontario Canada
Michael began exploring polyamory and HAI (Human Awareness Institute) in 2005 after the end of his 28 year marriage. Born and raised in the UK, he immigrated to Canada as an adult in 1966. Michael’s background is in business management, marketing, communications and strategic planning. His career has taken him to India, the Persian Gulf, Bangladesh, the Mediterranean and many other places. In 2007 HAI lost their founder and leader when Stan Dale passed away. After completing HAI level 6, Michael noticed HAI was losing ground with social media and stepped up to offer help. HAI has subsequently rebranded as HAI Global, a 501c(3) Nonprofit and has extended their offerings to many new areas in the US, Canada and Europe. Michael is still an HAI advisor, but has turned his interests to polyamory activism. He attended Poly Living in 2012 and took an interest in the polyamory movement as well as fostering cooperation between HAI and Loving More Nonprofit. Loving More has long supported and been supported by HAI, but that connection was somewhat severed with the passing of Stan Dale who was a long time member.  Currently semi-retired, Michael is interested in focusing his extensive business background in international marketing and communications to benefit organizations such as HAI Global and Loving More Nonprofit that resonate with his interests.

Vashti Ma’at
Albany, NY
Vashti’s curious nature and innate desire to learn allowed her to traverse many paths that helped her to discover and better understand human relationships. She considers herself a student of humanity; she believes that she will continue to be a lifelong learner and student. Subsequently, this led to an academic focus in Sociocultural Anthropology. This field allows her to learn about different aspects of societies, cultures, philosophies, and religions that are part of the fabric of humanity and their impact on intimate relationship choices. She stated that many of her intimate relationships have been, and continue to be similar to the premise of polyamory and Loving More’s philosophy of relationship lifestyle choices that is based on Honesty and Respect. Vashti is a proponent of polyamory relationships – qualities that dovetail nicely with Loving More’s endeavors of intimate relationship choices.
